A global market leader and pioneering EdTech company is looking for a VP of Engineering to join their team. Their mission is to revolutionize learning experiences and empower students and educators to achieve positive outcomes. The company is growing rapidly and are now looking for an exceptional VP of Engineering to lead a 50+ team and drive the development of their platform.

 

They’re seeking a VP of Engineering with at least 10 years of professional experience, ideally someone who has managed teams and managers of 50+ people. This role is ideal for someone who has experience working with different types of architectures, has dealt with ML and AI, and has dealt with acquisitions. You’ll set the vision and strategy for their technical direction, ensure engineering excellence, and play a key role in shaping the future of education technology.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 50+ engineers, fostering growth and ensuring alignment with the company’s values, mission, and strategy.
  • Develop and execute a roadmap, overseeing the integration of various features to enhance user experience and drive educational impact.
  • Streamline engineering processes by setting standards in model selection, hyperparameter tuning, and coding best practices, ensuring scalability and performance across projects.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and leadership teams to align architecture capabilities with strategic company goals and user needs.
  • Oversee code reviews and uphold best practices, offering guidance to ensure top-tier code quality and compliance with various frameworks and architectures.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10+ years of experience in a software engineering role, with some experience using AI/ML
  • Strong passion for EdTech and a keen interest in staying updated with the latest research and trends in the field.
  • Passion for leading, mentoring, and growing teams as well as being product and customer focused.
  • Solid programming skills in languages such as C#, .Net, Blazor, React, Azure
  • Understanding using different types of architectures and search engines and having some experience with acquisition processes.
